I’m fucking tired of people controlling my feminism. I’m fucking tired of people telling me that my anger puts people off. Regardless of the fact that I like it. Regardless of the fact that my anger drives me to even get up the courage to work and live and thrive in this mans world. My anger is a little ball inside of me that is for me to control, for me to use for my purposes, and not for anyone else to comment on or try to minimize. I’m fucking tired of white women who don’t know shit but their goddamned easy middle class lives telling me that I can’t let strangers have so much control over me. Out here negating my experiences and telling my that my anger serves no purpose. My anger protects me from becoming you. And if that is all it ever did, I would still be an angry bitch. Trying to dismantle all the horrific shit that we all imbibe from day one, internally, is one thing. One really fucking difficult, fucking worthwhile, slow ass process of self-care that is continuous and lifelong. And I’ve just started. But trying to apply these things to your people, ones who haven’t made these discoveries and due to their circumstances and privilege, not only feel like they don’t have to, but further, feel like these things and ideas are a waste of time/irrelevant/not worthwhile in the world they live in is the most frustrating thing in the world.

And then to go on and say that Dorner deserved to be burned alive by the LAPD because he “didn’t want a trial” is just like, how do you even live with yourself and your beliefs?

This breaks my heart! Puppy-millers that call themselves breeders let such sweetest darling doggies to become a mess and simply dump them at the shelters after they’re done with these poor souls.

Matilda is one of these victims. She is still young, but her body and spirit are broken. This sweet English bulldog has never known love in her life before the rescue. She has ear infection, a nasty bacterial skin infection, severe hip dysplasia, her breathing is very bad and on the top of all these she is underweight. But there is hope… and upcoming hip surgery as soon as this brave girl gains some strength. SMRS team is trying to raise $3000 to cover the medical costs for Matilda’s treatment. They are already more than half way there.

French Bulldog Village has pulled out a sad little momma frenchie and her 7 mixed babies that have been dumped at a local shelter. Sadly all pups have parvo, an infection that affects the gasstrointestinal or cardiac systems of dogs. Parvo is a highly contagious and often sudden. It can be especially severe in puppies that are not protected by maternal antibodies or vaccination.

Parvo is very expensive to treat and with 7 babies this is a tall order.

Recently a women’s magazine collective made the decision for one issue to print only prose, saying poetry was a less “rigorous” or “serious” art form. Yet even the form of our creativity takes is often a class issue. Of all the art forms, poetry is the most economical. It is the one which is the most secret, which requires the least physical labor, the least material, and the one which can be done between shifts, in the hospital pantry, on the subway, and on scraps of surplus paper. Over the last few years, writing a novel on tight finances, I came to appreciate the enormous differences in the material demands between poetry and prose. As we reclaim our literature, poetry has been the major voice of poor, working class, and Colored women. A room of one’s own may be a necessity for writing prose, but so are reams of paper, a typewriter, and plenty of time. The actual requirements to produce the visual arts also help determine, along class lines, whose art is whose.
